Former Red Jamie Carragher was commentating on Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Leeds United on the weekend.
Liverpool secured a 4-3 victory at Anfield.
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk made an error which led to Patrick Bamford scoring Leeds United’s second goal of the match.
Van Dijk tried to control a long ball, but he got it horribly wrong, as you can see in the footage below.
Van Dijk’s error left Bamford one-on-one with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. Bamford dinked the ball over Alisson and into the back of the net.
Carragher believes that Van Dijk was being “arrogant” trying to control the long ball.
Van Dijk’s error was certainly not his finest moment. He would have been better off clearing the danger.
But, it was not the end of the world. Liverpool still won the game and that is all that matters.
