(Video): “If you give players an excuse…” – Shaka Hislop says manager took wrong attitude

Shaka Hislop was on ESPN today discussing the Chelsea vs. Wolves game, and he immediately identified a problem with Frank Lampard’s attitude to the game.

He noted that the coach had said in his pre match press conference that not much was going to change, as he had only had two short sessions working with the players.

As Shaka pointed out, “if you give players an excuse, they’ll take it,” and that’s just what they did in this case. He thinks the coach should have been demanding more from minute one, not opening a back door for them.
