Fabrizio Romano has put out his latest transfer updates on Chelsea’s attempts to sign Xavi Simons this window.

This is a transfer saga that has been going on and on now and it appears to still be ongoing with no breakthrough in talks yet.

Sources: Chelsea still in the market for a new striker, new centre back, and a new goalkeeper this window!

However, it’s not all bad news. More on that further below…

Romano has been dropping big bombs already this week, and last night he has reported that striker Nicolas Jackson will definitely be leaving the club this window. He’s not been as clear as this on it before, so it looks like Jackson is most certainly off now.

But back to Xavi now..

Calma on Xavi

Once again, Romano has encouraged ‘calma’ on Xavi Simons to Chelsea, meaning that he believes that it is still in the works and still has a real chance of happening.

He spoke on his latest YouTube updates last night.

He said:

“Chelsea and Leipzig are still in talks over Xavi Simons, but no breakthrough! As I told you last week…calma! Leipzig are focused on Sesko and Chelsea outgoings.”

So there we have it Chelsea fans, we just need to relax and stay calm on this one because it’s still ongoing and is still expected to happen by the looks of it.

Chelsea have alternatives to Xavi

Chelsea do have alternatives to Xavi Simons though, and The Athletic have mentioned one again this week and it’s a name that they continue to link with Chelsea.

It looks like Chelsea are looking at Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa as an alternative to Simons but there is no indication that they have moved on from him to Rogers as of right now.
