Declan Rice reacts to being told to join Manchester United

According to Manchester Evening News, West Ham star Declan Rice has laughed off a fan who told him to join Manchester United.

The incident occurred when Rice was seen hanging out with his close friend and Chelsea star Mason Mount. A group of United fans made a beeline for him and shouted out for him to come to Old Trafford.

The player just laughed and buried his face in his hands, much to the amusement of Mount beside him. Both players came through the Chelsea academy and are good friends off the field.

According to the report, Rice is believed to be open to moving to United. The midfielder had earlier talked with Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw about life at the club while away on England duty.

Rice is currently contracted to West Ham until 2024 and is a key player for them. Valued at £100m, United will need to shell out huge money in order to get their man. (h/t The Metro)

The Hammers are also in contention to seal a surprise top-four berth that would fetch them Champions League football next season. Doing so would strengthen their hand against United’s advances.

While Jesse Lingard could be potentially used as a makeweight, the Hammers are not keen to include Rice in any negotiations for the United loanee.

United will get their money’s worth in the player. However, whether we are willing to do what it takes to land him remains to be seen.
