RC Strasbourg have announced the signing of Maxi Oyedele (20) from Legia Warsaw on a contract that will see him in the east of France until 2030. Reports suggest that Strasbourg paid €6m for the midfielder, triggering his release clause from the Polish club.
Oyedele, a Polish international from the youth brackets up to the senior side, was born in Salford and trained for the Burnley FC and Manchester United academies. It was during his time at Manchester United that Oyedele turned professional, making his debut with Altrincham F.C.
Oyedele gained more experience with Forest Green Rovers before he joined Legia Warsaw last summer. During his time in Poland, he played in the UEFA Europa Conference League and was part of the squad that defeated Chelsea FC in the second leg of their quarter-final elimination.
Strasbourg are hoping to compete in the Europa Conference League in the upcoming season. The club will look to enter the league phase via a playoff round.
