With the international break ongoing, Bochum didn’t have any competitive matches scheduled, but to keep the majority of their squad ticking over they played a friendly match against Uerdingen.
Arsenal loanee Osei-Tutu hasn’t played a single minute of Bochum’s last four games, ever since new head coach Thomas Reis took over, so he had a point to prove when given an opportunity in the friendly match.
The right-back did so in style with an incredible run from one end of the pitch to the other, beating five players and putting a good shot on goal. Unfortunately, the keeper pulled off a fingertips save, but the ball simply rebounded to former Gunner Thomas Eisfeld to finish off.
For the best-quality clip of the goal, watch the below video from 1:36:22.
Arsenal fans were understandably impressed with the show of pace and dribbling skill:
Playing backup to Bellerin is still some way off at this stage, given Osei-Tutu hasn’t yet established himself in the German second division.
It’s hard to argue he doesn’t deserve a chance now though, especially given the new coach hasn’t given him a minute to prove himself yet. Reis better have taken note of this performance.
