Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof has remained coy on his future after Atlético Madrid and Inter Milan both approached the 28-year-old in the January transfer window, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. United rejected the two proposals for the Swedish international with Erik ten Hag keen to keep hold of the former Benfica player.

“I want to play, that’s why I play football, but I don’t think about that. This summer, we will analyse (the) situation and we’ll see what’s best,” said Lindelof via Fabrizio Romano.

Lindelof has started five league games this season with Raphaël Varane and Lisandro Martínez often the centre-back pairing chosen by ten Hag.

The Red Devils are still fighting on three fronts after advancing through to the last eight of the Europa League with a 5-1 aggregate win over Real Betis before defeating Fulham 3-1 at Old Trafford to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

As such, the need for a larger squad is more apparent than ever and should any move for Lindelof materialise in the summer, one would imagine a replacement is needed before the deal is sanctioned.
