Speaking after their 5-0 win against Preußen Münster in the DFB Pokal on Tuesday night (via kicker), VfB Stuttgart’s players have begun to look ahead to the Champions League draw on Thursday.

Midfielder Angelo Stiller revealed that the players have arranged a get-together to watch the draw on Thursday evening:

“We’re looking at it together as a team. There’s something, something small, planned,”

Summer signing Ermedin Demirovic also spoke on Thursday’s draw:

“We are a young team and we are really excited. We will sit down as a team and celebrate, of course. I don’t think any of us have played in the Champions League.”

Right-back Pascal Stenzel then gave his ideal opponent in the Champions League:

“The classic, Real Madrid away.”

On Thursday’s draw, Stuttgart will be in pot four meaning they will have several tough games. The new draw means that a team will play two teams from each pot, one home and one away, in a total of eight games. If Stuttgart finish between 24 and 9 then they will qualify for the play-off round. If they finish below 24th then they will be completely eliminated from the competition.

Stuttgart qualified for the Champions League after finishing second in the Bundesliga last season, apart from their win in the DFB Pokal, they started the season off poorly with a 3-1 loss against SC Freiburg.
