kicker reports that VfB Stuttgart are interested in on loan Nürnberg striker Stefanos Tzimas due to doubts on the future of El Bilal Touré.
Touré is currently on loan from Atalanta, but due to a broken metatarsal in his foot, he could miss the rest of the season, putting doubts on his long-term future at the MHP Arena.
This has meant that Stuttgart needs to look at other options for the striker position, with Tzimas said to be one of the options. The Greek youth international is currently on loan at the Max-Morlock Stadion from PAOK in his homeland and has scored seven times in 12 2.Bundesliga games for Nürnberg.
There is a purchase option in Tzimas’ loan agreement that is worth €18m, Nürnberg are considering activating this option to then sell the 18 year old on for a profit. This would mean that Stuttgart would need to pay at least €18m for Tzimas in the summer, but they face competition from the Premier League as Tottenham, West Ham, Chelsea and Newcastle have all shown interest.
It would be likely that Nürnberg would demand a fee that could break Stuttgart’s transfer record which was set by Deniz Undav last summer when he joined permanently from Brighton for €26.7m
