Bild reports that VfB Stuttgart have agreed a deal with Red Star Belgrade to sign winger Lazar Jovanovic.

Stuttgart will pay a €5m fee for the 18-year-old, and performance-related bonuses could see the fee rise to €6m.

Last season, Jovanovic did not play in Red Star’s 5-1 win against Stuttgart in the Champions League. While he also spent the second half of the season on loan at fellow Belgrade side OFK Beograd, where he played 15 times, scoring four and assisting once as they finished sixth.

What type of role the winger will play for Stuttgart next season is yet to be seen, but with only Jamie Leweling currently the only player at the right-wing position, he could be seen as a depth option.

Stuttgart will also look to sign a midfielder to compete with Angelo Stiller and Atakan Karazor this summer, as well as a new striker.

It continues to be a busy few days at Mercedestraße as Stuttgart look to fight off Bayern Munich from signing Nick Woltemade, whilst they also continue to work on trying to bring 22-year-old Greek international Giannis Konstantelias.
