The Eagles announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
The 33-year-old experienced campaigner joins Crystal Palace after leaving former club Everton earlier this summer. Vanhaevermaet spent two seasons with The Toffees and she featured in all-but-one of the Merseyside club’s fixtures in the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2024/2025. The player offered former boss Brian Sørensen lots of versatility given her ability to operate in either defence or midfield.
On the international stage, Vanhaevermaet has been capped by Belgium on 74 occasions at senior level while she has scored nine goals for her country. The player is closing in on Belgium’s all-time top 10 list of appearance-makers.
After sealing her move to Crystal Palace, Vanhaevermaet said “I’ve spoken to the manager and she explained me her ambitions for this season.
“I immediately had a good feeling with her and the style of football she wants to play.”
Vanhaevermaet is Crystal Palace boss Jo Potter’s fourth signing of the summer transfer. The Eagles are likely to make further additions to their squad before the new season gets underway next month.
