Vast majority of Southampton fans want Ivan Juric sacked, per recent poll

According to a recent poll handed to Southampton fans, the majority want Ivan Juric sacked. For them, it is a matter of when, not if.

When Ivan Juric arrived at Southampton, replacing the departing Russell Martin, the decision was first met with a wave of confusion. Understandably, a large chunk of the Southampton fanbase hadn't heard of Juric, and he wasn't considered a favourite when the hunt was on.

Then, Ivan Juric did his first pieces with the press, and excitement began to build. The Croatian manager sold a dream to Saints supporters that exciting, rockstar-like football would be played. This was a stark contrast from the safe, reserved football which Russell Martin played before his departure.

However, things haven't panned out quite the way that Ivan Juric promised. If anything, the former Roma manager has performed worse than Russell Martin did. It doesn't look like things will improve anytime soon, either, despite desperate calls from key players.

Most Southampton fans want Ivan Juric sacked

According to a recent fan poll ran by Alfie House of The Daily Echo, a vast majority of Southampton fans want to move on from Ivan Juric. A screen capture of the results was posted to the Saints FC Reddit, and at the time, 66% wanted Juric gone now and a further 33% were prepared to sack him at the end of this season.

It is hardly surprising that Ivan Juric has lost the faith of the Saints supporters. The St Marys Stadium crowd was still vulnerable after enduring the latter part of Russell Martin's tenure, so Juric arrived under pressure anyway. Still, Juric did nothing to reclaim the faith in supporters, even after they were kind enough to gift him some time.

Look, should we look at Juric with any particular disdain? No, it was his first job in English football, and it was the hardest job any manager would have to face. However, as much as we can respect Juric for trying, it is high time a decision was made.

Of course, it's not as simple from the board's perspective as simply parting ways with Ivan Juric right now. He is under contract until the end of the season and his salary will be respected. Either way, for Southampton fans, the message is clear: WHEN, not if.
