Multiple sources are confident that Torino have chosen their next coach, who will be current Venezia tactician Paolo Vanoli, formerly Antonio Conte’s assistant.

The Granata need a new boss after Ivan Juric decided against extending his contract with the club after three rather tense years.

Several different candidates were floated, including Gennaro Gattuso – who instead seems to be on the verge of an agreement with Saudi Pro League side Al Taawoun – and Vincenzo Italiano of Fiorentina.

Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more are all in agreement that Vanoli is going to be the coach of Torino in the 2024-25 campaign.

Who is new Torino boss Vanoli?

Vanoli turns 52 in August and is currently at the helm of Venezia, who he took into the Serie B promotion play-offs.

He has been with the Lagunari since November 2022 and his contract is meant to run to June 2026.

The Italian also had a brief spell in charge of Spartak Moscow from December 2021 to June 2022, but he spent most of his coaching career as an assistant manager to Gian Piero Ventura for Italy, then Conte at Chelsea and Inter.

As a player, Vanoli represented the likes of Verona, Parma, Fiorentina, Bologna and Glasgow Rangers.
