Vanderson is set to make his long-awaited return for AS Monaco when they face Paris Saint-Germain on Friday. The Brazilian has not featured for the Principality club since late September.

Speaking at Wednesday’s press conference, attended by Get French Football News, manager Adi Hütter confirmed that Vanderson will be part of the squad to face PSG. The right-back missed out on the Brazil squad through injury but told Get French Football News that he felt “ready” to return to the fold after a significant absence due to a knee injury.

“Vandi is prepared, he has done good sessions this week, and he is in good shape, we’ll see if he starts tomorrow,” said the Austrian manager, who also confirmed that Mohammed Salisu, who has yet to feature since his move from Southampton is nearing a long-awaited return.

Maripán to start?

Whilst Salisu may be in the squad that makes the trip to the Parc des Princes, it is unlikely that he will feature. Salisu will be in the group, one of the 21. I can’t say he’ll be in the matchday squad, I don’t think so. I think he needs a little bit more time,” revealed Hütter.

It is therefore likely that Monaco will align a back three of Soungoutou Magassa, Wilfried Singo and Guillermo Maripán. The latter will join up with the squad in Paris on Thursday after featuring for Chile in midweek. However, despite the significant journey that he is making from South America, and the short turnaround, it is likely that he will start.

“It isn’t the first time that he has made a long journey. He does it often. He knows what he has to do in this short period to be in the best shape. With him, Singo and Magassa in the backline, we didn’t lose any games. I think Maripán is ready for the game,” said Hütter.
