Van der Meyde warns Inter Milan: Do not sell Dumfries to Chelsea! | OneFootball

Former Inter Milan midfielder Andy van der Meyde has urged his old club not to sell Denzel Dumfries.

The Holland fullback is being linked with Chelsea.

But Van der Meyde told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "That Denzel (at PSV) is different from this, he was growing, but I knew he would reach the top: it is a pride to see him at Inter and that he is wanted by a top club like Chelsea.

"In case of an offer? Just one thing, say 'no thanks'. And to Denzel: 'You stay here with us because we need you to win the Scudetto'.

"To adjust his contract: seen from the outside, he is one of the most strategic of (Simone) Inzaghi, one of the best in Europe in his role.

"If (Marc) Cucurella cost 65 million, with Denzel we start from 80! first ... Attention, this is the Premier and I also understand that in England you earn more, but he is too important in Inzaghi's 3-5-2: where can you find another one like this in the range, especially at the end of the market?"
