Holding a crucial away goal, Wolfsburg had the opportunity to turn their 1-2 deficit around but Chelsea’s attack proved to be too much.

It was a cagey opening 20 minutes with either side pushing forward but a little luck fell to the Blues to help them break the deadlock.

Sam Kerr was brought down and the referee gave a penalty which former Wolfsburg player Pernille Harder easily converted. However, it seemed as though the challenge on Kerr was just outside the box.

About a minute later, Wolfsburg had a great opportunity to equalize but Ewa Pajor put the chance an inch wide.

Chelsea seemed to find their magic touch after Harder broke the deadlock and doubled their lead through Kerr to lead 2-0 at halftime.

Coming out after the break with an even bigger mountain to climb, Wolfsburg tried to ramp up their attack but a strong Chelsea defence kept the German club tame.

Eventually, Fran Kirby also got in on the action for Chelsea adding the third goal with around 10 minutes left to cap off the victory.

Chelsea now will face either Bayern Munich or Rosengård in the semi-finals.

More to come …

  • Later on today, Manchester City will look to overturn their 0-3 deficit against Barcelona.
  • Rosengård will host Bayern Munich on 1 April.
  • Lyon’s postponed meeting with Paris Saint Germain will take place on 18 April.
