Barcelona travelled to Hjørring Stadium in Denmark for their second-leg match against Fortuna Hjørring.

It was a tight first half with either side pushing to find the breakthrough and the visitors came out on top with ease.

Barcelona’s attack peppered Fortuna with a total of 24 shots, 15 of which were on target, but the defence stood strong and Line Johansen made multiple saves.

Eventually, the visitors struck first as Aitana Bonmati opened the scoring in the 36th minute and then doubled it four minutes into the second half.

Later on, Mariona Caldentey, Asisat Oshoala, Marta Torrejón scored goals of their own to secure Barcelona a spot in the next round.

Over in Hungary, Lillestrøm challenged Wolfsburg at Alcufer Stadium.

The visitors came out firing but the hosts’ defence stood strong for most of the first half.

Ingrid Syrstad Engen had a shot saved by Ida Norstrøm and another attempt blocked while Alexandra Popp had one blocked herself.

But just as halftime approached, Pia-Sophie Wolter found the breakthrough and Syrstad Engen doubled Wolsfburg’s lead three minutes later.

Coming into the second half, Wolfsburg continued to pepper the hosts with chances but nothing could come of it.

Brøndby 1-3 Lyon (1-5 agg)

Scorers: Christiansen 11′; Parris 32′, Malard 42′, Renard 50′

Over in Denmark, Brøndby hosted Olympique Lyonnais as they looked to overturn the tie.

The hosts started off strong and cut their 0-2 deficit in half early on in the match.

Rebecca Maria Winther teed up Nanna Christiansen who put the ball past Sarah Bouhaddi after 11 minutes.

However, Lyon were not going to let up that easily. Nikita Parris equalized after 32 minutes and then Melvine Malard made it 2-1 just before the break.

Around the 50-minute mark, Wendie Renard added a third for the visitors and they kept pushing for more.

Parris, Amel Majri and Janice Cayman continued to be threats but Brøndby’s defence kept the match tame.

The result is another record for Lyon who extend their unbeaten streak to 30 games, the longest run in both the men’s and women’s competition.

Atlético Madrid 1-1 Chelsea (1-3 agg)

Scorers: Laurent 90+3′; Mjelde 77′

The first match of the day was the biggest one as Atlético Madrid hosted Chelsea.

In an end-to-end match, the hosts saw most of the action on the ball holding 62 per cent possession but Chelsea pressured with their attack in the first half.

Goalless at the break, Atlético had two penalty appeals washed aside in the second half and Rasheedat Ajibade skied a great opportunity to open the scoring.

Eventually, a Chelsea handball led to Toni Duggan having an attempt from the spot but she hit the crossbar. Over both legs, Atlético missed three penalties attempts.

Then just two minutes later at the other end, Maren Mjelde stepped up to the spot and smashed it home to send Chelsea through.

As the match went into injury time, Emelyne Laurent scored a consolation goal for Atlético.
