The U.S. men’s Olympic soccer team won’t be paid for their participation at the Paris Games this summer, according to a new report from Fox Sports.

The unions representing the men’s and women’s teams joined forces two years ago for a collective bargaining agreement that would guarantee players on both teams receive the same compensation for representing their country at the World Cup and other major competitions.

Yet, a ‘loophole in the deal’ has allowed that the U.S. Soccer Federation to not compensate members of the men’s team for participating in next month’s games.

All 25 players named to Marko Mitrović’s pre-Olympic training camp in early June are full-time professionals in Major League Soccer or abroad.

According to the report, a U.S. Soccer spokesperson declined to a request for comment on the subject.
