LA Galaxy manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto denies rumours that Chivas are interested in signing Uriel Antuna.
The 22-year-old attacker Mexican international was recently called-up for the squad available to play in upcoming friendlies against the United States and Argentina in early September.
“I didn’t know anything about that, I just found out. Antuna will be with us until the end of the year, and then we will analyze and see the best for him and for us. Obviously, given the possibility of such a large team (Chivas) to Sometimes you have to think of someone else,” Schelotto told AS.
Antuna, who is on-loan from Manchester City is enjoying a good year with LA Galaxy having scored two goals and tallied three assists in 24 games for the Galaxy. Antuna recently won the Gold Cup with Mexico, too.
“Antuna will be with us until the last game. We will talk with the City about the possibility of next year,” Schelotto said.
The MLS team is keen to retain the player for the remainder of the season, and Uriel Antuna aims to help the team win the remaining regular-season games with LA Galaxy to get into the playoffs.
