If it were possible to bring back ex-players in their prime to the current Queens Park Rangers team, then they would likely be challenging for promotion this season.

With the likes of Adel Taarabt, Stan Bowles and Les Ferdinand all gracing the Loftus Road turf, the Hoops have had some truly outstanding talents within their ranks over the years.

However, there is one player who spent six months on loan at the West London club who FLW's fan pundit believes would fit perfectly into their current eleven.

Kyle Walker would be the perfect fit at right-back for QPR

Kyle Walker spent six months at QPR at the start of the 2010/11 Championship season, having signed on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Although the right-back only played for half of the Hoops' season, he made a considerable impact at Loftus Road. Walker played every single minute of the 20 appearances he made for the club, which included a run of 14 games without loss.

While Walker returned to Spurs before joining Aston Villa on loan in January of that season, the right-back set the tone at the West London club, who went on to achieve promotion to the Premier League under Neil Warnock, finishing the season as champions.

When asked which player who used to play for the Hoops would fit perfectly into the current eleven and why, FLW's QPR fan pundit, Louis Moir, said: "You’d have to pick Kyle Walker."

Speaking to Football League World, Louis said: "I think it’s hard to say one player who would fit in with this current team now.

"I think you've got to go a good few years back and this is nothing, absolutely nothing against Jimmy Dunne, because he’s been very, very solid since becoming our right-back for the last season, but you’d have to pick Kyle Walker.

"For a natural right-back, that would just be so ideal. When he had him, albeit it was for only half a season on loan, even those 20-odd games or whatever it was, he is by far the best right-back I’ve seen at QPR. "Even when he was so young, he was so, so good. Look at what he’s done in his career. It’s probably not a surprise that he’s achieved so much. "Just thinking back to that season, we won the Championship under Warnock. He would surely have to go down as one of the best loan signings the Championship's ever seen really.

"He added so much. He was a joy to watch. Obviously, his pace, I mean it's not gone years on from that. Back then, he was absolutely unbelievable and what a loan signing to have to help you win the Championship.

"A Kyle Walker in this current side now, as that natural right-back, would be pretty, pretty good."

Kyle Walker went on to win it all with Manchester City

Following his loan spells at QPR and Villa, Walker went on to cement his place in the starting eleven at Spurs and never looked back. However, it was the loans he had at Loftus Road and Villa Park that set him on his way.

At Tottenham, Walker showcased his abilities in the right-back position with his pace and timing in a tackle. Indeed, shortly after his return to North London, Walker received his first England cap, in what was the first of 90 to this day.

Following six seasons at Spurs, Walker made the big money move to Manchester City in 2017, in a deal worth a reported £45m.

With City fighting on all fronts this season, there will likely be more trophies to come Walker's way despite Pep's ruthless rotation policy.

The right-back was left out of Ian Carsley's first England squad, but he has suffered this fate previously under Gareth Southgate, and will be hopeful he can work his way towards 100 international caps.

While being able to bring back a former player is always wishful thinking, it triggers fond memories of when they were at the club.

In Kyle Walker, QPR made the perfect loan signing; he slotted straight into Warnock's team at right-back and contributed to their Championship winning season.

Walker went on to achieve seismic success at Manchester City, where he has won every trophy possible. With 90 England caps to his name, he will be hoping for even more achievements in his latter years.
