At the weigh-in, both fighters appeared to be in high spirits and showed respect for one another, although they’ll be going all out to annihilate their opponent in just a few hours’ time. Fans on Reddit enjoyed the conversation they had during a face-off.

Neither fighter said anything overly offensive but were looking at each other’s physiques and seeing how healthy they were, feeling biceps until Volkanovski made the most of his home crowd, wheeling away towards those in attendance and getting a raucous cheer.

If that was anything to go by, the support for the Aussie will be immeasurable later tonight and could well play a huge role in the fight, spurring the underdog onto victory whilst potentially throwing Makhachev off his game slightly.
