The teams who finish second or third in the mini-tournament, and the team who loses in the third round, will play in the new UEFA Women's Europa Cup, the women's football equivalent of the Europa League.
The first and second round of qualification will be played in a mini-tournament tournament form with semi-finals, finals and third-place play-offs (all single-leg ties) hosted by one of the two participating clubs. If the game ends as a draw at normal time, two halves of fifteen minutes will be added on. If a team scores more than one goal in extra time, they win the game. If the game is still all square after extra time, there will be penalties. The winner of the finals will qualify for the next round of their retrospective paths.
