Atalanta rely on Ademola Lookman and Charles De Ketelaere amid a personnel crisis in the UEFA Super Cup, while Carlo Ancelotti gives Kylian Mbappé his Real Madrid debut from the start.

However, they are decimated going into this game, with Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini out for six months with torn anterior cruciate ligaments, Nicolò Zaniolo and Rafael Toloi injured, plus Teun Koopmeiners withdrawing so he can force through a transfer to Juventus.

New signing Mateo Retegui is on the bench, as De Ketelaere and Lookman lead the way with Mario Pasalic in support.

Real Madrid have the opposite problem, having added so many attacking talents that Ancelotti must find a way to balance them all in one line-up.

Mbappé is given his debut from the start along with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, dropping Jude Bellingham into a deeper role.

Toni Kroos has now retired and Eduardo Camavinga suffered a knee injury during the warm-up last night, so it is a reshuffled midfield.
