Udinese’s Keinan Davis has impressed this season and he is probably the reason for the side are still in Serie A, as he scored a goal which kept them in the division in the previous campaign.
He has shown glimpses of his ability this season, having become more of a regular in recent weeks after a slow start. He has one assist to his name, scoring once in the Coppa Italia.
The striker recently spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the season he has had, also revealing that he is an Arsenal fan and that he is still in touch with a lot of ex- Aston Villa teammates.
He said: “I arrived late, a great club, I will always thank them. I had my first contract with them, I made my debut in the Premier League, I played 10 minutes with Bournemouth. I am in contact with Konsa, Ramsey, Hause. But I support Arsenal, I watch them on TV”.
In the interview, Davis also thanked Gino Pozzo for trusting him during his time at Watford and he was also asked about how he has adapted to life in Italy.
“At first I was afraid to leave England. A real Englishman is scared. But maybe it’s the same for you if you have to leave Italy. The Premier League is a very competitive league, maybe the best in the world for the level of players. But I don’t miss it that much, I haven’t played there much. Serie A is an exceptional league and I’ve adapted to it.”
The Englishman also revealed that manager Kosta Runjaic is different from ex-manager Fabio Cannavaro and that he speaks English during sessions.
“Cannavaro is a good coach, he was good when he was with us. Runjaic is very organized, he plays attacking football, he gives a clear and unambiguous message, he asks for aggression. The dressing room, which is good, follows him. And he speaks English, for us this is important.”
Udinese are fifth in the table right now and Runjaic’s side will definitely be hoping to make it to Europe.
