Fabrizio Romano Says PSG Confident in Signing Two Key Targets Amid Tottenham, Aston Villa Interest | OneFootball

PSG could add two players this month if negotiations go their way, considering both want to move to the French capital. The Parisians will reportedly have a new No. 1 goalkeeper and bolster their backline with another center-back.

L’Équipe recently reported that PSG have stepped up their efforts to sign Lucas Chevalier, who is under contract through 2027. Talks over a five-year deal began, and Chevalier has already reached a broad agreement on personal terms.

The Parisians are now preparing to open formal negotiations with Lille, with only minor details left to sort out. Moreover, the expected fee is at least €40 million, a price PSG have already discussed internally and are ready to meet.

Meanwhile, journalist Ben Jacobs reported Friday that PSG have resumed talks to sign Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi, who’s already agreed to a five-year contract and is now waiting on the clubs to work out a deal—despite interest from Tottenham.

Jacobs also noted that if the move happens, the final fee is expected to be closer to Bournemouth’s €70 million asking price than the €60 million figure previously mentioned. That said, there’s still some negotiating left before the deal is completed.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that PSG are confident they can complete deals for Zabarnyi and Chevalier in the next days. Zabarnyi’s move has been in the final stages since Thursday, while PSG are still discussing add-ons with Lille for Chevalier.

Much like Zabarnyi, Chevalier also drew interest from a Premier League club. ESPN recently reported that Aston Villa have reached out to LOSC Lille about a potential move for Chevalier.

The Frenchman is considered a possible replacement for Emiliano Martínez, who is exploring a move away from the club. Nonetheless, it seems as though Aston Villa will be missing out.
