Two new names included as Barcelona unveil squad for Athletic Club clash | OneFootball

Two players to have missed out on Barcelona’s opening fixture of the campaign have been included in the club’s matchday squad this weekend.

Barca, of course, will mark their return to action later this evening.

After getting their season up and running courtesy of a 2-1 downing of Valencia, the Blaugrana will be hoping to make it two wins from two, in a La Liga meeting with Athletic Club.

And, in their efforts towards as much, new head coach Hansi Flick could have two new names to call upon.

Certain to be at the disposal of the German will be Fermín López, who trained as normal this week following his late return from international duty, included to face Athletic as a result.

And also potentially in line to feature this evening will be fellow Spanish international Dani Olmo.

Midfielder Olmo of course sealed a big-money move back to Catalunya’s capital earlier in the summer.

He, too, has been named as part of Hansi Flick’s latest matchday squad, however, with an asterisk alongside his name…

As much comes with the 26-year-old not yet registered with La Liga, amid ongoing last-minute efforts on the part of the Camp Nou brass to put the necessary conditions in place with a view to tonight’s fixture.
