It looks like being another summer where Real Madrid part ways with a number of their La Fabrica talents. Alex Jimenez has already left for AC Milan, while Rafa Marin and Alvaro Rodriguez are expected to join Napoli and Getafe respectively. The latest player that could depart is Rafel Obrador.
Obrador is rated very highly within Real Madrid, but as a left-back, his progression to the first team is blocked. Carlo Ancelotti already has Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia as options, while Alphonso Davies has been strongly linked in recent weeks. Miguel Gutierrez, another La Fabrica talent, could also re-join from Girona.
Because of this, Real Madrid are prepared to let Obrador leave, either on loan or permanently. As per Diario AS, Lazio are one of the clubs showing interest, although they will face competition from Las Palmas and Espanyol.
If Obrador leaves on a permanent basis, Real Madrid will include a sell-on clause and/or a buy-back option in the deal, as they do with most of their young players that are sold. It gives them the opportunity to keep some control over the 20-year-old’s future.
