Burnley have been flying in the Championship this season and will face a tough test against Ipswich Town this weekend in the FA Cup.

Ipswich are fighting for promotion in League One and will prove difficult opposition for Vincent Kompany’s side this weekend.

Burnley will have to be in top form if they are to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup, with Kieran McKenna’s side having lost just two of their last ten games as they chase down an automatic promotion spot.

Burnley themselves are flying and will be full of confidence going into the game, with Kompany likely to give a number of players a chance to rest, allowing some fringe members of his squad to get some game time.

The standards and expectations will still be high, with Kompany striving for success in every game, which has enabled them to push for promotion this season.

With that in mind, we’ve decided to take a look at what the team might look like when they play Ipswich this weekend.

Whichever way it’s viewed, Kompany has a very strong squad even with fringe players who haven’t been regulars this season.

He’s likely to line up with a 4-2-3-1 to allow Scott Twine to operate as a number ten in attacking scenarios. He will support Ashley Barnes in attack with new signing Lyle Foster likely to be on the bench for the game.

Darko Churlinov will support on the left as he looks to get game time under his belt with Nathan Tella likely to feature once again on the right wing.

The double midfield pivot of Josh Cullen and Samuel Bastien started the game against West Brom, and dominated the midfield third, allowing Josh Brownhill a rest after a series of ever-present performances.

Vitinho could come in for Connor Roberts, giving Burnley an extra attacking edge at right back, with Ian Maatsen continuing at left back giving the Clarets extra width in the final third.

At centre-back, Ameen Al-Dakhil could come in for his first start after he was on bench against West Brom last weekend, and he’s likely to partner Jordan Beyer, although Charlie Taylor could be preferred for his experience.

In goal, Arijanet Muric is likely to be replaced by Bailey Peacock-Farrell who started the third round win over Bournemouth earlier this month.
