Manchester City booked back-to-back FA Cup final appearances after shading Chelsea in Saturday’s semi-final.
Scorers: Bernardo 83′
The reigning holders fashioned the best opening when Phil Foden rounded Đorđe Petrović but saw his effort cleared on the line by Marc Cucurella.
At the other end, John Stones produced a strong block to deny Malo Gusto a sight at goal after the west Londoners launched a counterattack.
Both goalkeepers were noticeably busier shortly after the interval as Stefan Ortega made a double stop to deny Nicolas Jackson, now on his worst return from shots on target.
Petrović also thwarted Foden again but was powerless when Bernardo Silva on a parried Kevin de Bruyne cross to score the winner for Pep Guardiola’s side in the closing stages.
City will face the winner of Sunday’s other semi-final between Manchester United and Coventry City in the showpiece at Wembley on 25 May.
