AC Milan are looking to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window, and Torino’s Samuele Ricci remains the ‘dream’.

Just after the Supercoppa Italiana triumph in Riyadh, the Milan winter mercato seems to have exploded. With the first trophy of the season in the bag, the directors now seem to want to give Sergio Conceicao some reinforcements as a reward of sorts.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Marcus Rashford is the main name at the moment. Noah Okafor’s departure to RB Leipzig will free a spot for the winger to arrive on loan, and Conceicao has given the green light.

It is not only the attacking department that remains under the magnifying glass though. Ismael Bennacer has just come back from a long injury while Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yunus Musah are not natural double pivot players, so a midfielder is being sought.

As a result, Milan have not given up on the idea of signing Ricci this month even if he is a ‘forbidden dream’ for now. Milan would like to beat the competition by securing him in January but this ‘seems a complicated move at the moment’.

If the pursuit were to be postponed until the summer, Warren Bondo of Monza and Reda Belahyane of Hellas Verona are who the management could turn to. Interest in the latter in recent days, however, seems to have waned a bit, despite reports regarding a meeting with his agent.
