Correa’s loan spell with Ligue 1 side Marseille is now coming to an end.

The Argentine made the move to the south of France last summer. He did so on a one-season loan deal.

That loan deal contained a purchase option worth €10 million.

And had Marseille qualified for next season’s Champions League, then the purchase option would have become a mandatory obligation.

However, the French club have failed to do so. They finished outside the Champions League places in an erratic league campaign, and only made it as far as the semifinals of the Europa League.

And there is certainly nothing about Correa’s form that would convince Marseille to sign him permanently.

This season, Correa has made nineteen appearances for Marseille. He has neither scored nor assisted a goal.

The vast majority of Correa’s appearances for Marseille have come off the bench.

Whilst Correa had not shown his best form for Inter, his experience in Ligue 1 has been even more of a flop.

The question then becomes, what’s next for Correa?

It will be up to Inter to sort out the 29-year-old’s future. He will be back at the Nerazzurri when his loan at Marseille expires.

Correa has one year left on his contract with Inter. But the Nerazzurri will hardly want to keep the player around.

There are rumours of interest in Correa’s signature from Como, as the newly-promoted side could aim to sign a big name or two, But the Gazzetta report that that interest is not serious.

However, the Gazzetta report, there is a fair bit of interest in Correa coming from the Turkish Super League.

Alternatively, the newspaper report, there is also the possibility of a big money move to the Saudi Pro League for Correa.
