A very late equaliser away to BVB: TSG Hoffenheim played out a 1-1 (0-0) draw away to Borussia Dortmund. In the first half in particular, TSG were well in the game and even had the better chances but failed to take the lead. Dortmund took control of the match in the second period and opened the scoring thanks to Giovanni Reyna's goal (46). Jacob Bruun Larsen then redeemed Hoffenheim by scoring the deserved equaliser in stoppage time.
Head coach Christian Ilzer made three changes compared to the 0-0 draw against FCSB in the Europa League. Alexander Prass, Valentin Gendrey and Max Moerstedt started in place of David Jurásek, Pavel Kadeřábek and Jacob Bruun Larsen.
TSG Hoffenheim went into Matchday 14 in 14th position with 13 points. Dortmund were eight points and eight places above TSG.
Max Moerstedt made the starting XI in the Bundesliga for the first time. The striker had the first major chance to put Hoffenheim in front in the seventh minute.
The goal for 1-1: Everything pointed towards a defeat for TSG until Jacob Bruun Larsen scored the deserved equaliser. A throw-in from the right side was flicked on by Haris Tabaković towards the back post, where Jacob Bruun Larsen was in the right place and clinically slotted into the right corner.
Paul Hennrich was included in the TSG Hoffenheim first-team squad for the first time. The U19 double-winner was substituted on in the 79th minute and got his first taste of Bundesliga action.
For the first time in a long time, TSG Hoffenheim do not have a midweek fixture. The 2024 calendar year will end for TSG with a home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday (15:30 CET).
