Everton have seen a huge improvement in their fortunes since David Moyes has returned to Goodison Park.

The Toffees have picked up 13 points under the Scottish boss, with the club now sitting in 13th place in the Premier League standings.

Relegation fears may not be completely over for Everton, but they are happily looking up the table under Moyes now.

Scoring goals was a big issue for the Merseyside outfit under Sean Dyche, but that is no longer a problem with Beto rediscovering his form.

The 27-year-old has smashed four goals in his previous three league outings for his side.

BBC football pundit Troy Deeney says the Guinea-Bissau international has been totally transformed under Moyes as he is now “fitter, stronger and braver” player.

Writing in his column for BBC Sport, he said: “He had half a good season at Udinese, which is obviously why Everton bought him, but he struggled to get involved under Sean Dyche. Since David Moyes has been in, he has been excellent. He has been a whole different player. Another goal, fitter, stronger, braver.”

Beto joined Everton in the summer of 2023 for a reported fee of around £25.8 million. But he failed to make an impact in his debut campaign, scoring just five goals in 37 appearances across all competitions.

Beto didn’t get a lot of first-team opportunities under Dyche this season. However, his fortunes have changed since Moyes’ arrival at the club in January.

With Dominic Calver-Lewin injured, the centre-forward is getting regular minutes and he has been scoring in almost every game.

Everton will hope Beto continues his impressive form over the coming weeks as they aim to drop into the top half of the table.
