Trophy Tour kicks off in the US

A fitting tribute to City's incredible Fourmidables campaign, the Tour began in style, taking over Atlanta, Georgia between 9 and 11 August. Coinciding with the start of the Premier League season - and a 5-0 victory for City at West Ham - hundreds of fans streamed through a series of events for both our Official Supporters Clubs and the general public.

The original spark for the weekend’s festivities came courtesy of Chris Green, head of ATL Cityzens - Atlanta’s Official Supporters Club -- and Jacob Lackey, head of MCFC Knoxville in Tennessee.

The two envisioned a regional meet-up for Supporters Clubs throughout the south - from Florida to Georgia, to Alabama to Tennessee, to the Carolinas.  When the opportunity arose for the trophy tour, everything aligned. Man City and ATL Cityzens worked together to create a special watch party to fete the start of the season at ATL Cityzens’ home bar, the Brewhouse Cafe.

Luckily the bar offered plenty of coffee and a full breakfast - the game kicked off at 7:30am local time!

Members from more than 18 Official Supporters Clubs from across the southeast - as well as Texas, the midwest, and even Sydney, Australia - turned up in numbers.

No matter though! Hordes of happy fans enjoyed photos with all six of the Club’s trophies from the 2018/19 season, along with an intimate meet-and-greet and Q&A session with club legend Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Later that day, after the match, City then partnered with local nonprofit Soccer in the Streets for a day-long football festival.

The organization specializes in building accessible football pitches in urban areas, particularly under MARTA (local transit) train stops.

One of these served as the venue for the day, where Soccer in the Streets participants - as well as the general public - enjoyed a day of free clinics from Man City coaches, as well as more trophy photos, meet-and-greets with Wright-Phillips, giveaways, music, and food.
