Trevor Sinclair reveals he would have loved to play for Celtic | OneFootball

Ex-player turned pundit, Trevor Sinclair, has revealed that the one regret he has from his playing days is that he never signed for Celtic Football Club. The former Man City and England winger was on talkSPORT this morning talking to host and sycophant for Ibrox, Jim White. Sinclair even donned a replica Hoops top from a friendly match he played at Parkhead.

The big Englishman also told talkSPORT that he will be attending this year’s first Glasgow Derby of the New Year on 2 January at Celtic Park. Sinclair said he got the Celtic top he wore to the studio in a friendly against Celtic for West Ham United towards the end of his time with the London club. A left-winger by trade, but also able to play on the right hand side of midfield, the ex-Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City man scored 57 goals in 422 games across a sterling career south of the border.

On the Celtic top was wearing he said: “This is a shirt I got when I played in a friendly against them for West Ham, towards the end of my West Ham career, at Celtic Park. I kept the shirt. And I’ll be wearing it on January 2nd, next year for the Galsgow Derby.”

Sinclair also admitted that his mum and dad are Celtic affiliated, with his mum being from Sligo in Ireland and his dad a Glaswegian who is also a big Celtic fan. It is quite remarkable really the diversity of people Celtic attract and is a tribute to the magnificence of our institution that we can attract followers from all different walks of life – even ex-English footballers like Trevor. It’s great to see that Trevor will be at the next game against the Ibrox outfit this New Year. We all can’t wait, Trevor!
