Renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that direct contacts have taken place between the representatives of Cameroonian talent Carlos Baleba and the English club Manchester United.Romano specified that Manchester United believes reaching an agreement on personal terms with Baleba should not pose a major problem. However, finalizing the transfer with Brighton is expected to be complicated. In a tweet posted on his personal account on platform X, Romano wrote:

"Carlos Baleba has not closed the door to Manchester United after direct contact with his camp.Manchester United thinks that agreeing on personal terms will not be an obstacle, but negotiations between clubs are considered very difficult.Brighton wants to keep Baleba this summer and will not make his departure easy."

Paul Barber denies Man Utd interest in Baleba

For his part, Paul Barber, CEO of Brighton, denied these rumors in an interview with Sky Sports, stating that the club has not received any official offer from Manchester United regarding Baleba.Barber said: "As of today, we have not received any contact from Manchester United about Baleba. These are just speculations. We always make sure to sell our best players at the right time."Regarding the player, he added: "Carlos Baleba is an exceptional talent, and we hope he will stay with us for many years."He concluded: "The world of football is constantly evolving, and it's difficult to predict everything."It should be noted that if this transfer goes through, Baleba would become the third Cameroonian player to join Manchester United, after Bryan Mbeumo and André Onana.
