Transfer News: Tottenham star Ben Davies linked with shock exit to Napoli

According to transfer news from Football.london, Tottenham star Ben Davies has been linked with a shock exit to Napoli. The Italian side were hoping to sign Emerson from Chelsea but have lined up Davies as an alternative.

Ben Davies’ quality was once again proved when he was the preferred left-back for Jose Mourinho and Ryan Mason. Despite Sergio Reguilon arriving amid much fanfare, the Spaniard left a lot to be desired in his overall gameplay. Oftentimes, it felt as if he gave up on his defensive duties, putting the side in danger.

The experienced Welsh left-back was trusted to play his role well and in the few matches that Spurs did play well, Davies was a part of the side. He featured in 35 games last season, pushing Reguilon down the pecking order.

Now, it seems as if our star man is wanted in Italy. Napoli want to sign a new left-back and while they were initially looking at Emerson, they have kept Davies as an alternative. The Italian side have a good relationship with our new managing director Fabio Paratici. They are hopeful of using that to good effect and get Davies.

Spurs don’t really need to sell Davies and are unlikely to consider that. The defender is a consistent and solid player to have on the side. Currently starring for Wales in the Euros, Davies will be expected to stay at Spurs for the foreseeable future.
