Manchester United to face off against Dortmund and Liverpool for Nikola Milenkovic

According to Sky Sports reporter Max Bielefeld on Twitter, Borussia Dortmund have now entered the race for Manchester United target Nikola Milenkovic, who is also wanted by Liverpool.

The Red Devils are looking to bring in a central defender next summer to reinforce their unreliable backline. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring in a partner for skipper Harry Maguire and could finally get his wish this summer.

According to Sport Witness, United have already made contact with the player regarding a potential summer switch. However, we are not the only Premier League side keen on the 23-year-old.

Arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester City are also keeping tabs on the player who could be available for around £30m.

Initial talks have already started between the player’s agents and Fiorentina. It remains to be seen if it is regarding an extension or if they are working out transfer possibilities.

At 1.95m, Milenkovic is a towering presence at the back. More so, his versatility to also do a job at right-back further adds to his appeal.

It is no secret that United need another right-back to compete alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka. In Milenkovic, we would get a player who can fill multiple roles as needed.

The Serbian international is an interesting prospect who still has a long way to go in his career. The fact that more teams are entering the fray for his signature showcases his underlying potential. Whether United go all out to land him remains to be seen.
