Man Utd and Liverpool will go head to head for a Premier League midfielder, while the Red Devils may be interested to hear of a rift between a World Cup keeper and his manager…

It seems that Manchester United and Liverpool have very similar lists when it comes to midfield targets. Jude Bellingham appears to be the priority for both sides next summer, while the two clubs also have a Plan B in common.

Apparently, United are intent on moving for Moises Caicedo next summer. That’s the word according to Sky Germany, with Liverpool also keen on the Brighton star.

‘Many other top clubs’ are also sniffing around Caicedo, who has been on United’s radar for a long time. They were frontrunners to sign the Ecuadorian before Brighton swooped, with the Red Devils deciding to leave it after the deal became ‘a clusterf***’ with representatives crawling out of the woodwork looking for their cut.

MARTINEZ COULD SEEK VILLA EXIT United could also be in the market for a goalkeeper, with doubts over whether they will exercise their option to extend David De Gea’s huge deal for a further 12 months. So they may be interested to learn of an apparent rift between Emiliano Martinez and Unai Emery.

Football Insider says the Argentina keeper had a ‘fall out’ with the manager during their time together at Arsenal. Martinez got away from the Emirates when he joined Villa, only for Emery to follow when he replaced Steven Gerrard a few weeks ago. And it seems the pair haven’t yet cleared the air.

United have been linked with a move for Martinez, with for De Gea.

ARSENAL EYE WORLD CUP ATTACKERS Arsenal are being linked with a couple of World Cup forwards this grey and murky Tuesday morning…

The Gunners are said to be one of three teams ‘monitoring developments’ around Christian Pulisic. The USA star has never established himself in the Chelsea first XI and the Daily Mail says the Blues are now ready to sell in January, with an asking price of around £35million. Manchester United were known to be interested in Pulisic during the summer, while Newcastle are also said to be keen.

Arsenal’s name has also been chucked in the mix regarding Nico Williams. The Athletic Bilbao attacker is currently with the Spain squad, with Goal suggesting the Gunners, as well as Liverpool, Chelsea and PSG, as potential suitors. Williams has a release clause worth around £43million.
