Domestic deals

A report by ESPN claims that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could complete his return to the Premier League later today, as he makes the move from Barcelona to Chelsea.

The Blues are also considering a late bid for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, according to the Independent.

Manchester United have an agreement in principle with Newcastle for the loan of goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka with an option to buy for £5m, reports The Telegraph.

And the same report also suggests that Man Utd will unveil the signing of Antony from Ajax later today.

According to the BBC and the Daily Mail, Fulham are set to sign former Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian.

On the continent

Spanish outlet AS insists that Barcelona president Joan Laporta has assured Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso that the club will do everything possible to bring him to the club before the end of the transfer window.

Barcelona have targeted Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Meunier as their priority at right back, according to Mundo Deportivo, but the asking price of between €15m and €20m could prevent the deal going ahead.

There’s still a chance that Cristiano Ronaldo could move to Napoli before the end of the transfer window, reports Corriere dello Sport, but the deal will be complicated to arrange.

Meanwhile, Fulham have moved closer to signing Roma’s Justin Kluivert, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.

And PSG are set to complete the signing of Fabián Ruiz from Napoli today, according to CBS Sports, with talks over Keylor Navas moving in the opposite direction still ongoing.

From the horse’s mouth

Patrick Vieira is ready to do battle to keep Wilfried Zaha. The 29-year-old has enjoyed an explosive start to the season, with three goals in as many appearances.

“There’s what I think about keeping Zaha and then there’s what the chairman and the player thinks,” the Frenchman told the Mirror. “I always want him to stay, it’d be crazy for me not to fight to keep one of my best players.”

In case you missed it

Lucas Paquetá joined West Ham in a deal worth £36.7m.

Chelsea let Ross Barkley leave by mutual consent.

And Nice beat Leicester and Newcastle to the signing of Sofiane Diop from Monaco with a £15.4m bid.

Total spend this window: €4.22bn
