Wout Weghorst’s move from Burnley to Besiktas is set to be completed imminently.
As per LancsLive, the transfer deal to send the 29-year-old overseas should be concluded in the next 24 hours after the striker flew in to Turkey to complete the move.
Weghorst, who cost Burnley a reported £12 million in January, is set to potentially re-coup the Clarets their money, but not initially.
Reports in Turkey claim that the striker will join the Besiktas on loan initially, with the Turkish club then holding an option-to-buy for £12 million at the end of the agreement.
The fact that Weghorst is nearing the exit door at Turf Moor does not come as a great surprise following revelations made by the player early last month.
Following the conclusion of the campaign, he said, via the Daily Mail: “My future won’t be next year in Burnley.”
“I won’t go into the Championship – not that I feel too good for it, absolutely not.

“I am just really ambitious and also it’s about the national team. The coach Louis van Gaal wants us to play at a high level.
“There are some options for me in a higher potential of league than the Championship. I have to take the chances offered there. We will see what the future will bring.”
Weghorst scored just three goals for the Clarets after making the move to the Premier League.
This is a transfer that clearly didn’t work out for either party.
Weghorst was unable to find any real goalscoring form as Burnley battled relegation, and as such it was £12 million wasted by the Clarets.
They will hope to re-coup that figure though with the option-to-buy reportedly a part of the Besiktas transfer agreement.
No doubt the forward will find his goalscoring boots once again in Turkey as he is not a bad player at all. Things just did not work out at Turf Moor and in the Premier League.
