Who would have thought, at the start of the transfer window, that the longest-running saga of the entire summer would be Tottenham’s Danny Rose to Paris Saint-Germain?
It was revealed just after the World Cup that the Tottenham man was keen on a switch to the Ligue 1 giants, but at that point our first reaction was ‘I bet you are mate’.
Now though, it seems as if the England international could genuinely be on his way to the Parc des Princes before next Friday’s deadline day.
The Mirror claim that Spurs are willing to let the 28-year-old leave on loan for the season having seen his place at left-back go to Ben Davies last term.
Thomas Tuchel’s men are on the hunt for a new left-sided defender and have apparently told Rose they are keen, but may have to wait until after their Financial Fair Play hearing before they can make any moves in the market.
Uefa are set to announce whether Les Parisiens broke financial rulings over the Neymar and Kylian Mbappé deals on Friday.
