Tottenham Hotspur kickstarted their 2024/25 Premier League campaign on Monday night, drawing 1-1 with newly-promoted Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Spurs had dominated the first half of the game, taking the lead through Pedro Porro and creating a boatload of decent chances. However, in the second half, the Foxes fought back and earned a point via the head of veteran striker Jamie Vardy.

Here's our picks for Tottenham's best and worst players in the draw, according to 90min's esteemed player ratings.

James Maddison: 7/10

The ex-Leicester man was in fine form against his form club on Monday, with his typically brilliant delivery into the box causing havoc - particularly in the first half.

It was his crosses which set up the large bulk of Spurs' best chances in the game, and what led to the visitors taking the lead through Porro in the 29th minute - looping a clever ball into the heart of the penalty area, where the Spaniard was on hand to flick home.

Get him in your FPL team if you haven't already.

Honourable mention

Lucas Bergvall: 7/10

Honourable mentions are usually saved for players who played the bulk of the match, but Lucas Bergvall's 12 minute cameo on Monday was so impressive that we'd be remiss not to give him a shoutout.

In just 12 minutes, the 18-year-old managed to complete 96% of his passes, have 39 touches, recover possession three times and win five duels. That's a lot of work in just 12 minutes of football.

The youngster looks set to be a star under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham's worst player vs Leicester City

Destiny Udogie: 5/10

In short, Destiny Udogie didn't quite look up to the pace in the first game of the 2024/25 Premier League.

The Italian's delivery from out wide was sorely lacking in quality throughout, and he was just a shade late to one too many duels - losing nine in total during the game.

Not quite at the races.
