Tottenham Hotspur head to Galatasaray in the Europa League on Thursday evening, in a huge clash between two of the competition’s unbeaten teams.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have maximum points from three games, with only Lazio and Anderlecht able to match that feat. Spurs travel to Istanbul in optimistic mood after thrashing Aston Villa 4-1 in the Premier League at the weekend. A second-half comeback saw Spurs score four times after the break and reduce the gap to the Champions League places.
Galatasaray will also be confident with the Turkish champions unbeaten in 11 games. A weekend win over Besiktas retained their place at the top of the Süper Lig table, following a summer that saw Victor Osimhen arrive on loan as shock marquee signing from Napoli.
Postecoglou will be without his first-choice centre-back pairing with neither Micky van de Ven or Cristian Romero having travelled to Turkey. The former has a hamstring issue, while Romero will not be risked after sustaining a foot injury at the weekend. However, Romero is expected to return in time for this weekend’s game with Ipswich Town. Ben Davies should start in central defence alongside Radu Dragusin.
Spurs are light further forward in the absence of Richarlison, Timo Werner and Mikey Moore. James Maddison could be recalled to the side after scoring off the bench against Aston Villa at the weekend.
Spurs predicted XI: Forster; Gray, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Bergvall, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son.
Galatasaray host Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on Thursday 7th November 2024. Kick-off in Istanbul is 20:00 GMT.
The Europa League clash will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1 and subscribers can stream on Discovery+.
