Tottenham Hotspur is holding further talks with Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo over a potential move. The Barcelona loanee is supposedly one of the strongest contenders to join the ranks of Ange Postecoglou‘s defensive ranks according to the Daily Mail.
The 23-year-old is also pursued by Newcastle United and Manchester United. The January transfer window is the opportunity for the Spurs head coach to fill the voids. The centre-back position is pretty much open following the injuries of Micky van de Ven and Ashley Phillips.
Ange Postcoglou’s temporary centre-back option Eric Dier is likely to run out of contract and his strong but reckless Cristian Romero is walking a tightrope. West Londoners are already in pursuit of SL Benfica’s Morato. Having Jean-Clair Todibo on the wishlist is a testament that the Londoners mean business.

Postcoglou’s men have recouped themselves after failing to capitalise on their strong start to the campaign. The only loose end seems to be their centre defence.
The Nice defender did pick up a red card against Le Havre while also losing 3-1. However, that is the first marching order the defender picked in the league so far.
Despite being signed by Barcelona in 2019, the French man barely featured for the Blaugrana. He then went on to spend loan stints at Schalke 04, Benfica and presently, Nice. It is highly unlikely for Todibo to return home especially now that Barcelona has set up their squad.

EPL should be a great platform for the Frenchman to display his prowess. There cannot be a better place for him to start than Tottenham. The club is desperately looking for a centre-back option, identifying Todibo as one of their best prospects.
The move is now in the talking stage, with Jean-Clair Todibo’s representatives in touch with Tottenham’s team. The move can end up being a two-way affair. The Nice man can finally find a turf that suits his style and the Spurs might just find their answer to their solid defence option.
