🇪🇺 Tottenham share the points with Rennes in Conference League | OneFootball

Tottenham travelled to Roazhon Park and split the points with Rennes after a 2-2 draw in their Europa Conference League group stage opener on Thursday.

Scorers: Badé 11 (OG), Højbjerg 75′; Tait 23′, Laborde 71′

The visitors took an early lead when Lucas Moura’s shot deflected off Rennes defender Loïc Badé leaving his goalkeeper wrong-footed.

Down early, Rennes lunged forward and almost equalised minutes later when goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini spilt a shot but Adrien Truffert headed the rebound well wide.

However, the waves of attack weren’t over for the hosts and a long-range striker from Flavien Tait made it 1-1.

After the break, both sides pushed forward to find another goal but defensive performances at either end of the pitch kept the scoreline down.

Eventually, Gaëtan Laborde poked the ball into the net for 2-1 but Spurs hit back on the counter and substitute Pierre-Emile Højbjerg made things all square again.

Despite both sides having chances to find a last-minute winner, the clock ran out and the points are shared.
