Premier League giants Manchester United have joined the race to recruit Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, according to 90min.

The Foxes have seen their star man shine this term, getting into double figures for both goals and assists during the 2023/24 campaign and playing a huge part in his team's success.

Unfortunately for both the player and the club, promotion isn't guaranteed at this point with Leeds United and Ipswich Town threatening to knock them out of the automatic promotion zone.

But Dewsbury-Hall, who attracted plenty of interest during the January transfer window, looks set to move up to the Premier League next term regardless of whether his team are promoted or not.

His is arguably the club's most valuable financial asset following the departures of Harvey Barnes and James Maddison last summer, and the Foxes are in need of raising significant funds before the end of June.

Having allegedly breached financial rules, with the Premier League charging them for this, they won't want to land themselves in any more hot water and the sale of Dewsbury-Hall could help them to avoid more sanctions.

Leicester valued the midfielder at £45m during the January window and that isn't a surprise considering the player's contributions and the fact he still has more than three years remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium.

Brighton interest remains in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but a move to Tottenham is a preference

The Foxes rejected a £20m bid from Brighton back in the winter for the Foxes' star man, but the Seagulls are reportedly willing to increase their offer this summer, which could give them a real chance of getting a deal over the line.

Leicester ideally want to retain Dewsbury-Hall, but that may not be a possibility if they remain in the Championship and if they do stay down, they may need to cash in on him for a cut-price deal.

United have submitted an enquiry about the midfielder, but the player would rather join former teammate Maddison at Spurs, according to 90min.

Tottenham haven't got an "active" interest in him at this stage though. Brentford, however, could reignite their interest.

Whether Leicester go up may depend on whether clubs can afford the 25-year-old though, with the midfielder potentially set to cost around £25m if they remain in the second tier.

That is a low price tag for a player who has contributed so much to Enzo Maresca's side's cause.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall needs to carefully consider his next steps at Leicester City

Dewsbury-Hall has thrived under Maresca (pictured above) and this is why he will have a huge dilemma in the summer if Leicester go up.

If they are promoted, he may want to stay put in his current environment, which he is clearly comfortable and thriving in.

However, Leicester could start the season with a points deduction and that isn't ideal, so a move away to give himself the best chance of playing top-flight football for the long term may be a good career option for him.

At the same time, he needs to ensure that he's starting most weeks.

This is game time that he is pretty much guaranteed at Leicester, but not elsewhere at this point.
