There is no denying the sporting quality that Dani Olmo provides to Barcelona. The Spaniard remains a trusted player in the squad, but he has been far from perfect. In fact, his injuries in particular have been a cause for concern.

However, reports of him being linked to a possible exit this summer have recently emerged. Furthermore, it has now been stated, as per a specific source, that the player has attracted the attention of Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

In fact, as per a recent report from Fichajes, the London-based outfit is preparing an offer worth €70 million to sign the 27-year-old Barça midfielder.

For Tottenham, the opportunity is clear. With James Maddison sidelined through injury, the need for a playmaker with both vision and European pedigree has become pressing, and the Premier League club is in the market for a creative force who can operate across midfield and attack.

Barcelona quite unlikely to sell Olmo

The report further claims that while Olmo is appreciated at Barça for his sporting qualities, the club’s financial situation could force them to assess such a possibility. However, all of this does seem to be quite unlikely to happen.

After all, there is not much time left before the end of the transfer window, and the club would not want to deplete Hansi Flick’s squad any further. They have already allowed Inigo Martinez to leave this summer, and any more key departures would be a big blow to the club’s sporting ambitions.
