Tottenham are on the brink of completing an “incredible” deal for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Mali international has spent the last four years at the Amex Stadium, but he looks set to switch the South Coast for north London.
Bissouma only has 12 months left on his contract at Brighton, so it always seemed likely that rival clubs could look to snap him up this summer.
The Times reported on Tuesday that Tottenham had agreed a £25m deal with his current employers, and the transfer now seems to be moving at pace.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Spurs have already scheduled a medical for the 25-year-old, indicating that he is close to finalising his move to Antonio Conte’s side.
Sheth has been impressed by the way that Tottenham have swooped in to get a deal done quickly, and he has hinted that they were able to convince Bissouma to join due to the fact that they will be playing Champions League football next term.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Sheth said: “The Bissouma deal looks like an incredible one. It probably looks like a good one to Brighton as well given his contract situation, because he’s only got a year left, wasn’t going to sign a new contract. Aston Villa had made a bid for him in January but Brighton rebuffed that offer. Tottenham have since come in, Bissouma wants Champions League football, Tottenham can provide that now.”

Sporting director Fabio Paratici has certainly made his mark in the last couple of transfer windows, and Tottenham are benefiting from his recruitment.
Back in January, he brought in Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, with the former managing to register 13 league goal involvements upon his arrival, while Bentancur established himself as a regular starter in central midfield.
The summer transfer window also started with a bang for Spurs as they confirmed that Champions League winner Ivan Perisic will be joining on a free transfer at the start of next month, and now they are on the verge of signing Bissouma.
Tottenham look to be building a side that will be ready to compete for major trophies in the not-too-distant future, with Conte set to have midfield options of Bissouma, Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp next season.
This is the strength in depth that is required to challenge at the right end of the table, and Paratici deserves plenty of credit for the way he has got a number of exciting players through the door since the turn of the year.
