Turkish news outlet Takvim has recently reported that Tottenham Hotspur winger Ryan Sessegnon is gathering interest from Turkey as Fenerbahce are eyeing a move for him in January. It is understood that the Turkish outfit are planning to move in for the Spurs outcast when the transfer window reopens at the start of next year.

Sessegnon’s Productive Loan Spell In Germany Last Season

Sessegnon had a fruitful loan spell with Hoffenheim after putting in some eye-catching displays in German football last season. The London-born sensation took part in 29 matches for the German club in the previous campaign, netting two goals and picking up three assists in various competitions.

The 21-year-old caught the eye by averaging 2.0 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 1.7 clearances, 0.7 shots and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has even distributed possession with conviction based on his pass completion rate of 79.4% in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).

What Should Be Tottenham Hotspur Boss Nuno Espirito Santo’s Play Here?

Sessegnon can use his quickness to make some good runs with the ball down the left flank. He has transformed himself into a decent defender at the back during his loan spell at Hoffenheim. The talented wide player can operate in any role down the left flank which makes him such a versatile presence in Tottenham’s match-day squad.

The English talent can get stuck in with a few tackles to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the pitch. However, he needs to add more end-product to his game if he intends to be a regular feature at the highest level.

At the moment, Sessegnon is not getting any meaningful game time at the North London club which is why Nuno Espirito Santo should think about either loaning him out or selling him permanently during the winter transfer window.

Sessegnon’s current contract with Spurs is set to run out in the summer of 2025, so the London giants have no immediate need to cash in on him. However, if Nuno Espirito Santo is unwilling to play him regularly, he would be better off letting him join Fenerbahce next year.
